i know it probably wouldn't mean very much to say that i cried on saturday during the wedding. thrice to be precise. i cried prematurely when i saw the wedding photos before the wedding began, even before i stepped into the sanctuary. but more than run of the mill feel-good hallmark feelings, i felt a sense of sweet contentment, of beatification even. how often can i claim to have known the wedded couple since the time they started dating! i even remember our meeting at bugis the day mabel told de and i she and evan were dating, and how we've been pestering her since forever to just get married already. to see such a godly couple walk down the aisle, pure and true in their love for each other, really nothing could be more beautiful.

we love you mabel! very very much.

I feel a sudden urge to sing
The kind of ditty that invokes the Spring
So, control your desire to curse while I crucify the verse
This verse you've started seems to me the "Tin Pan-tithesis" of melody
So to spare you all the pain, I'll skip the darn thing and sing the refrain

The night is young, the skies are clear
So if you wanna go walkin', dear
It's delightful, it's delicious, it's de-lovely

I understand the reason why
You're sentimental, 'cause so am I
It's delightful, it's delicious, it's de-lovely

You can tell at a glance what a swell night this is for romance
You can hear, dear Mother Nature murmuring low "Let yourself go"

So please be sweet, my chickadee
And when I kiss ya, just say to me
"It's delightful, it's delicious, it's delectable, it's delirious,
It's dilemma, it's de limit, it's deluxe, it's de-lovely"

Time marches on and soon it's plain
You've won my heart and I lost my brain
It's delightful, it's delicious, it's de-lovely

Life seems so sweet that we decide
It's in the bag to get unified
It's delightful, it's delicious, it's de-lovely

See the crowd in that church
See the proud parson plopped on his perch
Get the sweet beat of that organ sealing our doom
Here goes the groom – boom!

How they cheer and how they smile
As we go galloping down the aisle
It's divine, dear, it's de-vene, dear, it's de-wunderbar, it's de-victory
It's de-velop, it's de-vinner, it's de-voix, it's de-lovely

The night is tired and so we take
The few hours off to eat wedding cake
It's delightful, it's delicious, it's de-lovely

It feels so fine to be a bride
And how's the groom while he's slightly fried
It's divineful, it's delicious, it's de-lovely

To the pop of champagne off we hop in our plush little plane
Till a bright light through the darkness cosily calls Niagara Falls

Well, my love, our day's complete
What a beautiful bridal suite
It's de-reamy, it's de-rousy, it's de-reverie, it's de-rhapsodie
It's de-regal, it's de-royal, it's de-ritz, it's de-lovely

We settle down as man and wife
To solve the riddle called married life
It's delightful, it's delicious, it's de-lovely

spuds

the pharmaco paper was a tragic affair.
when i saw the first essay question on individualising drug dosages, i knew it was game over.
and after the exam, i felt like this:

ah but wth larh. after 6 weeks of mugging, i can safely say that i don't care anymore. the profs can have all my marks as an early christmas present. take them, just take them all!
oooh but the taste of freedom is divine. mm-mm-mmm.
so today like vultures we descended upon far east (erh, again) for some quick shopping before we headed down to samyang's house. and ohgosh it's bathed in pure luxury: swimming pool, jacuzzi, spiral staircases, gorgeous sprays of bougainvilleas adorning the white-washed exterior, if you squint with one eye it really looks like fullerton from the outside. no shit!
and dinner was incredible. thanks sam i had a wonderful time :)
the rest of them are sleeping over and watching the ring now but i can't cuz it's mabel's wedding tmr morning. love weddings love weddings!

argh what a miserable morning. the only thing i can take comfort in is the sweet knowledge that while we're having the time of our lives, the rest of nus are still mugging their guts and hearts out. mug on, everyone! ehhehheh.
nothing tops delighting in other people's misery. oright don't spank me now.

it's darth tater and his spud trooper friend! i want!

and seow, if you read this, eskibar's at holland now..let's go when you get back alright :) miss you lots babe.

i am a very exhausted medical student.
remind me again of the importance of being conscientious in my studies and reading up after each lecture, and starting revision early. especially after last year's half-f studying left me with a slew of disgusting exam results.
but some things in life i'll never learn.

last wk there was some free health screening sponsored by nkf outside the lt, jayne and i were thoroughly enthralled by the body fat index measurement station. but we didn't want to take blood in some of the other stations cuz we're humchee shits, so we tried to cajole one of the staff to just let us take our body fat levels.
the conversation went something like this

me: hi can we just measure our body fat index?
him: haha i don't think so, you have to go through all the stations
me: but we really just want to measure our body fat index
him: hmm..i can't do that for you...why don't you just join the queue?
me: but we really just want to measure our body fat index
him: what's the problem?
me: we don't wanna take blood
him: haha it won't hurt at all! just a small prick
me: but we really just want to measure our body fat index
him: really? hmm..really?
me: yeah we really just want to measure our body fat index

hmm. i sound just a wee bit psychotic don't i.
and as usual jayne kept mum while i tried to make my point. thanks ah babe.
in the end i just went for the entire thing...smart of them to put the body fat station last so i couldn't dodge the glucose level and cholesterol blood tests. damn! haha but i must say i'm mighty pleased with the results man, even though lor my best friend and harshest critic insists it's not very low at all. what does he know. in my opinion i'll be able to carry on living the high life the high-fat sedentary way! more kfc and less gym sessions please, thank you very much. yippee!

wow i should get back to studying.
but come friday i'll be a freer happier woman.

how i spent my post exam break

(lor's pop calls it a zigzag puzzle. i think he's damn cute.)

in case you can't tell, that's very many pieces! and van gogh's stylised brush strokes are so complex and random, but so beautiful in their entirety...what i'd realised piecing this together.

so after 3 days and 3 nights of hard backbreaking labour
ta-dah!

what a work of art.
now to frame it up!
:) lor and me are expert zigzag puzzlers! bring on the next 10,000 piece challenge baby.

mb and immunology are bitches.
honestly why even bother studying when they're gonna test shitty things like nipah virus, CJD variants and other minor obscurities, some of which we've never seen in our lives! why why why bother bending over thick stacks of notes in half paralysis late into the night, why pass up tv, dinners out and window shopping to mug when everything tested looks foreign and unfamiliar anyways? and in the past week for the first time since uni started i asked myself what the hell did i get myself into and perhaps a tiny tinge of regret crept into my mind. questions like maybe i'm not cut out for this, maybe i'm better off doing something else, pursuing some slightly more attainable, slightly less unreachable goal.
pfft.

hello jen this is for you!

this is too cute.

AND
go mark! go hb! gogogo! fightfightfight!! winwinwin!!!
