i'm back at work again...data entry really sucksshit larh. it's so excruciating staring at a monochrome monitor and even worse trying to decipher what the heck the customers are writing on their information cards. and how are we supposed to mail you a $50 voucher you've won if you don't leave your postal code either. and uncle duzzen let me use icq on the comp! he smacked me when he caught me msging van and promptly threatened to tell my dad. the squealer. haiyarhh. anyway disclaimer my uncle does not own a bra shop so i beseech you do not make digs at me tagging them cuz it was just a one off thing, and do not ask me for their prices and designs either and whether i can get you a discount please, please. today i tagged nice little girlie overalls and ralph lauren baby rompers -like how cute is that, so you can probably tell how wide the variety of clothes they stock is.

anyway ange and van and blahblah are at chinablack now, cass borrowed my id again..hope for ange and van's sake there aren't too many dis-gus-ting underaged guys who say they're in NS and then proceed to slime you esp when the lights are dim whilst you're in blissful oblivion of their oily acne-ridden prepubescent faces. alcohol duzzen help either.

i don't wanna do data entry tmr!! :(

meditation

it's time for me to reflect on the past year. sieve out the good and the bad from 2003's experiences, think about how i want to build up from what i've achieved this year, and learn from my past mistakes. actually it's not like me to do reflections, i just live from year to year, week to week, day to day. but mabel made us do this assignment thing yeah so i'm being forced to hahah.

anyway i thought 2003 was a downright terrible year, esp towards the end. for reasons other than the a's that will remain undisclosed. and when i was posed the question, which were the best parts of 2003, i had to take a full 7 minutes to fill up the 3 spaces. and i really never want to live thru 03 ever again. what with sars and the iraq war and the 6th season of pck and prelims and a's and shittier stuf. and you think what could be worse than a's. ha but there's a hell lot that could be worse than a's.

then someone told me, there's no such thing as a terrible year. every year is different, every year will have its ups and downs. i don't know i still think 2003 was pretty terrible for me, but then thru all the struggling and difficulties i think i've emerged stronger. though not necessarily unscathed and possibly irrevocably scarred, but definitely stronger. and when i said that mabel and jo smiled and i realised i was smiling with them too.

happy new year everyone.

today was a good day :)

i finally feel at ease talking to him in person, and it's such a huge relief. like i didn't have to think very hard to respond and stuf the way i used to...but then again maybe it was cuz most of the conversation revolved around one central figure hahaha. or two. why couldn't it have been easier in the beginning. owell i'll never know now will i.

it's raining again..

But,
I miss you when your gone,
That is what I do, baby.
And its going to carry on,
That is what I knew, hey baby.
Hold on to my hands,
I feel like sinking,
Sinking without you.

when you're gone * cranberries

Do you remember me
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you with childhood fantasies
Well I'm all grown up now
And still need help somehow
I'm not a child but my heart still can dream

So here's my lifelong wish
My grown up Christmas list
Not for myself but for a world in need
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, no
This is my grown up Christmas list

As children we believe
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely wrapped beneath the tree
But Heaven only knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal a heartached human soul

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, no
This is my grown up Christmas list

What is this illusion called the innocence of you
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, no
This is my grown up Christmas list
This is my only lifelong wish
This is my grown up Christmas list

watched hc choir carol at fullerton today, and i hafta agree with bernia that they've lost that certain spark that we (claim to) have, but sops are improving nevertheless. and the tenors really look like chipmunks larh i don't know why but they do. if they were to suddenly burst into an impromtu rendition of alvin (and when i say alvin i mean the actual cartoon character) and the chipmunks' "Christmas don't be late" i won't be able to tell the difference. and teo chee hean was there too talking to ms lim..royalty in our midst. haha and char remember you told me about uncle teo i had to fight back a laugh seriously. and your pri school friend wasn't emceeing either maybe her accent did her in.

and then i watched the christmas play darkest before dawn at coos with hsien and sanduo. yes i can add another pair to my list of couples-whom-i've-been-a-lightbulb-with. hai will this curse never end, i'm cursed even on christmas eve. hai-yarh. anyhow it was good! the stage effects were like woh. haha actually i won't mind watching the 11pm show to usher in Christmas with the rest of my christian brothers and sisters. it's a nice feeling to be singing o holy night at 12 am on christmas day.

and i think the calling's versh of carol of the bells is supremely nice.

O holy night, the stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of our dear saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn,

Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices.

O night divine, O night when Christ was born!
O night divine, O night, O night divine.

today i waited for hsien for close to 45 min at the commonwealth bus stop with a 4.5 kg turkey and 25 sticks of otah whilst listening to darryl rant about the perils of med school and ns until he boarded 970.

if there's anything i learnt today, it's patience.

yday was a good day. i saw so many people i haven't seen for ages from the minute i woke up and headed down to kap for breakfast to the time i hugged zi goodbye at night. and i wished merry christmas to almost everyone else and hugged them too. i wish everyday of the year could be like that. when we're so uninhibited about our feelings and it doesn't kill us to really truly show that we care. the christmas season just seems to open up our eyes and melt our hearts so that we can savour just for awhile that feeling of giving and not expecting anything in return. we give and send love through presents and cards, without expecting the other party to reciprocate. and i think that's the magic of it all. during december the crowds in orchard don't seem half as irritating as usual and i can smile at people who don't hold the door for me and the heavy downpours don't even seem to dampen my spirit. and it duzzen even really bother me that i'm netsing like crazy, right down to a $1 hotdog at ikea, cuz i've exhausted my cash supply buying gifts. okay it does bother me a little but wth. everything's just so warm and fuzzy and bright. what does bother me though is my ever increasing paunch, testament to all the ginger snaps kettle chips takopachis and oreo blizzards i've been scoffing down but that's a different matter altogether. and i won't even mind waking up way too early just to rush down to suntec with hsien to buy a turkey in the morning, and later sing some christmas carols solo during the party. alright at the risk of sounding like a badly written hallmark card i'd just like to wish everyone a merry merry christmas in advance and may all of you find love peace and joy in everything you do in the new year.. lufyall

and i got to see snow today during breakfast! :)

i had a terrible dream last night. the worst thing is that it seemed so real and thinking about it, it wasn't totally unrealistic. i dreamt that i got C D C for history (?!?!?!?!), maths, and chem a's in that order. and this teacher presumably ms ong i can't quite remember passed me my result slip saying with a shake of the head, this one..i don't know what happened. anyway wassup with history i don't for the bloody life of me take history..and i got C for gp!!!! this is serious shit. i didn't check the slip for chinese though. not that i recall.

van and ange and someone else was in my dream.
van was all sympathetic, she scored better than me though.
ange, erhh ask me if you dare about your score.

it was a nightmare in the full sense of the word i woke up quivering and shaking and trembling down the stairs at 7 am, and yes such an ungodly hour, to my mummy sitting at the breakfast table sipping coffee. and in response to my dream she was like don't you worry even if you get C D C and have to go poly, rem that God has great plans for you so you should accept your fate or something to that effect.
this is where i heave a huge sigh.
Sigh.

then i went back up to bed and hummed have yourself a merry little christmas and after awhile it was alright :)

okay okay please wish me sweet dreams tonight.

The grey ceiling on the earth
Well it's lasted for a while
Take my thoughts for what they're worth
I've been acting like a child
Your opinion, what is that?
It's just a different point of view

Whatever else, what else can I do?
I said I'm sorry, yeah, I'm sorry
I said I'm sorry, but what for?
If I hurt you then I hate myself
I don't want to hate myself,
don't want to hurt you
Why do you choose your pain if you only knew
How much I love you,
love you

Well I won't be your winter
And i won't be anyone's excuse to cry
And we can be forgiven
And I will be here

Old picture on the shelf
It's been there for a while
A frozen image of ourselves
We were acting like a child
Innocence and in a trance
A dance that lasted for a while
Read my eyes just like a diary
Oh remember, please remember oh
Well I'm not a beggar, but what's more
If I hurt you then I hate myself
I don't want to hate myself, dont want to hurt you
Why do you choose that pain if only you knew
How much I love you, no

Well I won't be your winter
And I won't be anyone's excuse to cry
We can be forgiven
And I will be here oh

No, I won't be your winter
And I won't be anyone's excuse to cry
And we can be forgiven
And I will be here

I won't be your winter
And i won't be anyone's excuse to cry
If we can't be forgiven
I won't be here

Understand the things I say
Don't turn away from me
Cause I spent half my life out there
You wouldn't disagree
D'you see me, d'you see
Do you like me. Do you like me standing there
D'you notice, d'you know
Do you see me, do you see me
Does anyone care

Understand what I've become
It wasn't my design
And people everywhere think
Something better than I am
But I miss you. I miss
'Cause I liked it. 'Cause I liked it
When I was out there
D'you know this, d'you know
You did not find me, you did not find
Does anyone care

Does anyone care

char 12/18/2003 11:32:00 PM

i'm sitting in the boeing 707, 181400m high in the air, gravitating halfway between the stratosphere and the galaxy, with all the stars sparkling with a supernovaic brilliance and the moon a celestial orb of milkywhiteness. i'm surrounded by clouds, as fine and as misty as a veil of tears, and i'm leaning back in my seat, moonstruck and starstruck and wonderstruck, letting amy lee's ethereal vocals wash over me.

In my field of paper flowers
And candy clouds of lullaby
I lie inside myself for hours
And watch my purple sky fly over me

i'm drunk with the beauty of it all.

and really, nothing else matters then.

there there's one again.

and if i were to read my now-entries then, i'd probably tell myself to shut up. but i remember how bad everything felt then. and i think i never want to feel that way ever again.

it reminded me on sunday that the happy faces we see around us often belie broken spirits. during encounter, i was sitting among the other women, strangers who seemed perfectly fine before, and they were crying and sobbing their hearts out during the session on healing, and it kinda hit me then. that people with their wounded souls and torn hearts just learn to bury their sorrows and troubles deep and it just takes as much as that 1 hour for the feelings to be uprooted. must say the encounter was really good for me cuz i had so many pent up feelings that just needed to be released prior to it. and during the camp i experienced so much more of God's love and touch and there were so many tangible ways in which i felt the holy spirit. and for once the food wasn't trashy and we all got our own rooms just that sining luana and i chickened out and slept in the same room. and during those 3 days there was just so much sharing and stuf and i just felt calm and at peace with the world and with myself. i've forgotten my frustrations and i now know that i'm truly free from whatever troubled me before. cooolies :) ok must keep it up. getting baptised on 27th dec just 2 days after christmas. okay charmaine is a happy girl now :):) and she's gona stay that way

watched love actually today and it's hella good!!! really go watch it....it's such a feel-good movie, after i watched it i felt like giving everyone i know a nice big hug and tell them i love them, esp when liam neeson said to his stepson, "tell joanna you love her, i never told your mother how much i loved her everyday, cuz i thought she was perfect everyday", and at the back of the show when there's all these footages of people hugging each other. gorgeous movie. keira knightly is gorgeous too. damn and she's my age.

spent the entire day at the warehouse tagging bras. red ones yellow ones black ones white ones padded ones big ones skinny ones and leopard skin-print ones. i'm serious. all 762 of them. and out of 762, 425 were kinky leopard print. and the worst thing is the older lady employees there thought they were adorable, even when jessica and i were majorly cringing. i don't think i'll last one more day tagging them, now even when i close my eyes all i see are bras in every shade of the rainbow. and do you know how much they cost in total. $13984.80!!!!!! i tagged $13984.80 worth of bras today!!! the things i do for the moolah. my gawd.
