Wednesday, September 18, 2002 u know i think i'm the sort of person who enjoys inflicting pain on myself. a good example would be grace and how she hangs out with people who slam her all the time....and "how many times must we tell you we are not your friends". haha just so happens the people are in particular ange, van and i. oh and anyone else that happens to be in the way. it's addictive i tell you...the insults just fly out of my mouth and they come as quick as they go. and all grace does is reiterate that she's a fairy and look coy and demure in her long/grey hwachong skirt. and now. promos are in (wheeee) 13 days. someone said that we have approx 3 days per subject. not including chinese. and here i am, idling online as usual, as time ticks by....being acutely aware of my impending doom and languishing away my studies. am i destined to be a toilet cleaner/security guard who gets to watch tv for the rest of my life? this is definitely consequential to my future and hahah well back to my icq messages. later. char 9/18/2002 11:30:00 PM
Tuesday, September 10, 2002 excuse me while i nerdify. photosynthesis is essentially a process of energy transduction. Light energy from the sun is converted to electrical energy and finally to chemical energy. Photosynthesis consists of 3 stages : the light harvesting stage, the light dependent stage and light independent stage. When a photon of light strikes the accessory pigments, the light energy is passed on to neighbouring pigments by resonance (direct transfer of energy) and finally reaching the specialised reaction centre chl a. This excites an electron in its orbital, boosting it to a higher energy level, and is this electron is accepted by a thylakoid membrane bound primary electron acceptor. This initiates a flow of electrons. In non-cyclic photophosphorylation, the electron from chla P680 (PS2) is first accepted by unknown primary electron acceptor Q, and then passed on to plastoQuinone (PQ) then passed down a series of cytochromes (b/f complex) and then to plastoCyanine (PC). Then to reaction centre P700 (PS1). Passed to primary electron acceptor, then to ferredoxin (Fd). NADP+ reductase transfers the electron from Fd to NADP+. NADP+ is reduced to NADPH and H+ when it takes up H+ ions from the stroma side of the thylakoid membrane. i must be mad. all i want this christmas is a life. char 9/10/2002 11:33:00 PM
